Save the Date

Beth Van Hoesen, Boris, 1985, M. Lee Fatheree, Photography

You are invited to attend the opening of Beth Van Hoesen: Lyrical Line on Sunday, Dec. 17, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Van Hoesen was long recognized as a consummate printmaker, but it was only after her death in 2010 that her passion for drawing became apparent. The artist’s ability to drill into the essential characteristics of her subjects using a bare minimum of lines earned her the admiration of peer artists, critics and collectors.

Along with the Beth Van Hoesen prints and drawings, CCAM will present The Magical Art of Printmaking, which will walk viewers through the sometimes complicated, but always fascinating, world of intaglio, woodblock, silkscreen and lithographic print production. Featured artists in this show will include Francisco Souto, Joseph Goldyne, Karen Kunc, John Robert Weaver, Louise Bourgeois, Lesley Dill, Andy Warhol, Kara Walker, Hung Liu and Phillip Chen.
