Suzanne Wise – Director

Suzanne Wise joined the CCAM Board of Directors in 2023 and currently serves as a Director of the Board.

Suzanne retired as the executive director of the Nebraska Arts Council after 35 years of service. During her tenure, she expanded the state’s 1% for Art public art program, established an artist fellowship program and the Fred Simon Gallery, a showcase for new and emerging talent. Wise has served on numerous boards, including the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, the Mid-America Arts Alliance, and the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA). She was awarded NASAA’s Gary Young Award for her service to the Bield in 2018.

An art historian by training, she enjoyed curatorial stints at Block Gallery, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL and Sheldon Art Museum at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
